Corbett National Park: More Elephants

As in all of the other parks that I've visited, safaris are allowed 2x a day -- once in the early morning and the other in the late afternoon.

At Corbett you can do either a jeep safari or an elephant safari. Other parks offer the same, but it's unusual that Corbett offers elephant safaris since there are wild elephants in the park -- and the two do not mix!

I went on one elephant safari -- quite fun, except that you need to watch your legs and feet, the elephant will walk through anything -- including huge thorn bushes (so note to self -- next time wear long pants and sneakers). While we were on the elephant safari we encountered a small herd of elephants -- fortunately the wild elephants didn't charge us -- which does happen quite often -- instead they just showed us their backsides!
