Dune Bashing - Al Maha Resort

After the Falconry exhibition, we went back to the main resort building and had some coffee waiting for our next adventure -- 1 hour of "dune bashing" - where you go out on the dunes in 4x4 SUVs (we had Land Cruisers) and drive like maniacs. Our driver advised us not to eat breakfast beforehand -- wise suggestion. I can't begin to describe how much fun it was to off-road on the dunes -- and I was holding on for dear life -- so couldn't really take any pictures -- but it was rather like a roller coaster without tracks.

After the dune ride -- returned to the main building for a wonderful breakfast and then spent the next couple of hours back at my "tent" --- sitting outside reading and taking a dip into the pool when I got to hot. Can't say just how much I enjoyed having my own pool -- it was little but it did the trick!

Grabbed a quick lunch and then went to the spa for a pedicure and reflexology massage. Had the treatments sitting outside in the shade (sipping white wine and snacking on apricots and pistachio nuts) - amazingly good experience!
