Diamond District (Apartment Complex)

This is a picture of my apartment complex -- pictures of the inside of apt to follow

Day 3: Pramod shows up at 8:30 am to make me coffee -- guess I should have been a bit clearer about only requiring that on weekdays! Spent the day out checking out some of the shopping action -- definitely don't need to worry about toiletries -- seems like I can find everything that I use. Used auto-rickshaws for transport -- 1st guy refused to take me -- not sure why -- but no problem after that (and no arguing over using the meter). Roads in B'lore are very congested. Sidewalks are a bit problematic -- they are a bit torn-up and completely missing at times --- find it easier to walk on the side of the road.

Day 2: Meet with Raju the caretaker for the temporary service flat. Nice guy - very eager to please. Ask him why the air conditioner seems to stop working in the morning -- he tells me something about how they cut-off some power from 9 - 10am in the morning -- lights work, but no a/c (fortunately there are fans in every room -- and I should be at work by then anyway). Tell him about my internet woes - he calls Airtel, we speak to a customer service person who doesn't know anything about Macs -- so need to wait around for a service person to come over and address my problems. 4 hours later / 2 visits later -- can access the internet -- yay!

Fill out forms for some kind of Bangalore registration card - go to local photoshop for some passport-size photos -- need 15 of them! Pretty much need to give at least 1 photo for any official business (opening up bank accounts, etc.)

Go out to dinner/drinks with co-worker -- sat outside, weather is beautiful.

Pramod, the houseboy for the service flat, did a wonderful job cleaning the flat. I gather he comes by everyday to clean. He will also make me coffee in the morning. Not a bad deal!

Day 1: Can't get the internet service to work in the temporary flat. No working cell phone, no internet. Pizza for dinner (from Pizza Hut) -- pretty much the same as home. Power outage scheduled from 9 - 10pm and unfortunately this flat doesn't have a backup generator -- strange to sit around in the dark -- using iPhone as flashlight.
