Singapore: Night Safari

The Night Safari at the Singapore Zoo is an open-air zoo that is only open at night. The animals are made visible by lighting that resembles moonlight -- although it is brighter than full moonlight, it is dim enough not to disturb nocturnal animals' behavior. Not good for taking pictures though especially since you aren't allowed to use a flash -- most of mind didn't come out at all.

Definitely worth the trip (about 30 minutes from central Singapore) and at night the temperature is at least bearable for walking the trails. A tram takes you through the bulk of the zoo -- plus you get a guide explaining what you are looking at (and needed that at times to figure out where the animals actually were).

BBC was there at the zoo filming a story about working animals -- made it even more interesting!
