Belur Temple Complex

The main entrance to the complex is crowned by a Rayagopura built during the days of Vijayanagar empire. Within the complex, the Chennakesava temple is in the center, facing east and flanked by the Kappe Channigraya temple and a small Lakshmi temple on its right. On its left and to its back is an Andal temple. There are two main Sthambha (pillars) in the complex. The pillar facing the main temple was erected in the Vijayanagar period while the pillar on the right dates from the Hoysala period.
